THE FULL STORY

I grew up in an environment strongly influenced by an incredible musical variety. My father, a music lover by nature, owns a bar where the selection of quality music has always been a priority. Thus, I've met many artists and bands from different musical backgrounds and styles since a very early age, not usually heard by my generation.

Even before I saw someone doing it, playing drums or percussion was always something that fascinated me.

I played in various local bands throughout my teens and quickly realized that I wanted to make a career out in the artistic world, especially in music.

So I started to study art in-depth and also I signed up in the conservatory of music in Portugal. Then I continued to study with masters in Portugal, England, Germany, and the USA.

When the band I was playing with Heavenwood) signed with MASSACRE RECORDS (GER), I was already living from art in general, but I felt what it is to work with major labels, having my work and records spread worldwide. When I noticed I was sharing the stage with bands such as SepticFlesh, Amorphis, Six Feet Under, Helloween, Dark Funeral, Fleshgod Apocalypse, WinterSun, Soen and many others…

Since received an invite to record for the album “The Tarot of The Bohemians”, along with Franky Costanza (Dagoba/Serial Drummer) and Daniel Cardoso (Anathema), I started to stand out more as a session musician for a variety of bands and artists, both live and studio, and also to be a member of debates and conferences about music on local Radios, Streaming, Schools and TV shows.

In 2019 I was elected 1 of the 10 Best Drum Performance of 2019 by The Prog Mind, for the “Translucent” album by Sollar.

That same year I was exclusively working as a session musician, so I've joined Aramaic (Dubai) on their tour in Europe, as well as Trudy Lynn (Texas), Pat "Mother Blues" Cohen (New Orleans), Steve Krase (Texas), Jennifer Gray (North Carolina), between many others.... Also toured in U.S.A. twice, and did some presentation workshops for some drum company's.

In 2021, after 1 year replacing Moonspell's current drummer in a local band, I was invited by my good friend Beatriz Mariano to join forces with my current band OKKULTIST, we immediately went into the studio and record the album "O.M.E.N." released by Alma Mater Records and very soon elected the best album of the month, then later one o the top rated death metal albums of the year.

Currently, beside this band, I'm on the road with Olive Tree Dance and Be-Dom, which are both projects mainly focused on rhythmic performances
